

AAC communicative process is really complex:
- User receives auditory information
- User processes the linguistic message
- User formulates or identifies an appropriate response
- User translates and executes a response using AAC system

It is a similar process a bilingual speaker experiences:
- He first thinks of responses in his primary language
- Then he translates
- Finally he implements the response using the second language
