What
Are Their?
Precepts
are powerful principles.
Precepts
are commands intended especially as a general rule of action.
Precepts are suggestions, not obligatory pieces of advice which are communicated
typically through teaching. When you understand and apply them in your life
they can give you the strength to concur everything that comes before you.
Precepts - Synonym
- Rules apply to more restricted or specific situations, for example the rules of the game. Anyone who has raised children has found that while they may complain about hard and fast rules, they actually feel more secure with them than with rules that are vague and always open to negotiation. Clear-cut rules don't allow for unspoken agendas to come sneaking in the back door of the mind.
- Principles are governing actions or procedures.
- Low implies imposition by a sovereign authority and the obligation of obedience on the part of all subject to that authority.
- Regulations imply prescription by authority in order to control an organization or system.
- Statutes imply a law enacted by a legislative body.
- Ordinances apply to an order governing some detail of procedure or conduct enforced by a limited authority such as a municipality.
- Canons suggest in nonreligious use a principle or rule of behavior or procedure commonly accepted as a valid guide.

“365 Days of Wonder: Mr. Browne's Book of Precepts” by
R.J. Palacio
365 DAYS OF WONDER is a beautiful companion to the novel "Wonder": a collection of quotes and wise words, one for every day of the year. It includes funny, insightful, inspiring thoughts from WONDER's fans, famous authors and personalities - from Roald Dahl and Paul McCartney to Anne Frank, Tolkien and Popeye - and from the novel itself.
Precepts can teach us, guide us, and serve as therapy for suffering hearts and minds.
